This summer, Sesame Street viewers were thrilled to see that Elmo rescued a puppy named Tango.
It seems that his love for rescuing dogs didn’t stop there, and he’s now partnering with The Dodo to help more dogs find their loving forever homes!
Elmo is helping real-life dogs find real forever homes in a new spin-off series between Sesame Street and Dodo Kids called Families For Furry Friends.
In the series, Elmo works with a real-life shelter worker, Elli Frank. Frank’s job in the shelter is to help match rescue dogs with “forever families,” and it seems Elmo is helping her in a big way.
Even though Elmo is new to the pet rescue space, he’s a natural at articulating exactly what a pet needs in a forever home.
He helps explain each dog’s traits, including things like chewing shoes and having “the wiggles.”
It’s awesome to see Elmo making such a difference for rescue pets in need. Not only will dogs find their perfect forever homes thanks to him, but kids and families will find their new best friends.
